Specialist bait prepared around your trip
Dungeness black lugworm is a specialist sea-fishing bait available fresh or frozen. Fresh worms are well suited to a trip taking place that day, while frozen bait can be easier to transport, store and keep ready for a later session. Ordering is straightforward: call before your trip, tell us the quantity needed and agree a collection. This helps you avoid setting out without enough bait, particularly when fresh supply is in demand. We can also discuss which format is more practical for your timing, journey and storage arrangements before you leave our Dungeness shop.

Clear quantities, postage and collection options
Black lugworm costs £8 per score of 20 worms. Postage is £12 for five scores of bait, giving anglers farther away another way to arrange a useful quantity. When normal collection times do not fit your trip, an out-of-hours pickup can be organised in advance at a safe collection location. This arrangement must be agreed before arrival rather than assumed on the day. Fresh supply can be reserved for same-day use, while frozen lugworm gives you greater flexibility when travel plans or fishing conditions may change.
Frequently asked questions
How many worms are in one score?
One score contains 20 black lugworms and currently costs £8. Order the number of scores that suits your session. If you're unsure, tell us about your trip and we can discuss the available quantity.
Can fresh black lugworm be collected out of hours?
An out-of-hours collection can be arranged in advance. We will agree a safe pickup location with you before the trip. Please do not rely on this option without calling first and confirming the details.
Should we buy fresh or frozen lugworm?
Fresh lugworm suits a trip taking place soon after collection. Frozen bait is more practical when you need easier storage, longer transport or a backup for changing plans. Your timing and facilities should guide the choice.
